Caroline Gilnack - Printmaking, Sculpture, and Collage

Caroline Gilnack earned her BFA in Cartooning from School of Visual Arts and eventually made her way to Poughkeepsie and printmaking. Previously, she served as a studio assistant at Fallkilll Print Works and she has also studied at the SUNY New Paltz Printmaking Department.
Her work draws from dreams, mythology, folklore and the natural world. When making art, her first question is “How can I tell this story?” This influences the medium and process. Her techniques used include block printing, monotype, drypoint, as well as collage and sculpture. Most recently, her subject matter includes bugs, especially insects and how they relate to people and everyday life.
Caroline’s art has shown in the Trolly Barn, the Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory and the Tivoi Artist Gallery. Ask her about Bigfoot.
